2006 ANNUAL POWER SHOW POKER RUN

The Poker Run was held on Saturday morning at our Annual Power Show. We had a nice sunny day with mild temperatures, which made it a very pleasant ride.

This year we made a short visit to the Danville Rehabilitation Center. The staff had about 22 of the 115 residents brought outside to the front entrance to get a close look at all the antique tractors. Among them was Bud Trump, a retired farmer. Bud had always used John Deere equipment and talked about his John Deere tractors, according to some of the staff. Since this year?s featured tractor was a John Deere, we decided it would be appropriate to present Bud with a new John Deere hat. The residents and staff appreciated the parade of the John Deere tractors followed by some other brands.

Many of the participants expressed how they enjoyed showing their tractors to the Danville Rehab Center residents. While we all enjoy the Poker Run, the highlight was the visit to the Rehab Center.

This year?s winners received hats, license plates and key chains donated by Joni Hendren, of Hendren?s Inc. In the first group (featured tractor), the best hand was Everly Summerlot, second best Jim Elsbury, third Jim Sinders and the worst hand was Ron Parker. In the second group, the best hand went to Don Covey, second Bob Parquette, third Jim Thorn and the worst was Chet Pearce.
